Sean Oran Andrews, DOB: 7-17-78, and Desiree Kalene Andrews, DOB: 9-26-79, have each been charged in the shooting death of a female pit bull dog in Lakewood. Sean Andrews has been charged with Aggravated Animal Cruelty (F6) and Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (F6). Desiree Andrews has been charged with Aggravated Animal Cruelty (F6); Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (F6); and three counts of Violation of Bail Bond Conditions (F6).
On August 1, 2020 Lakewood police were called to the area of 12th Avenue and Teller Street on a report of gunshots fired. According to the arrest affidavit, they arrived to find the dog lying in the street. It appeared to have died from gunshot wounds. Witnesses reported that a man and a woman shot the dog and then got into a Chrysler 300 and drove away.
Sean and Desiree Andrews were arrested on August 13, 2020.
The duo appeared before a judge on August 14, 2020 where they were advised of their rights, their charges, and their bond amounts were set. Sean Andrews bond was set at $50,000. Desiree Andrew’s bond was set at $100,000. Their next court appearance will be preliminary hearing on September 10, 2020.
The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual has committed a crime(s). A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo. RPC 3.6
