As part of its Wildfire Mitigation Program, Xcel Energy contract crews will perform inspections using an unmanned aerial system (UAS / drone) in Jefferson County from July through September 2020. The drones will fly above Xcel Energy poles, lines, and wires to take photos and identify potential hazards. Xcel Energy will notify residents near inspection sites by outbound phone call.
