Small businesses in Jefferson County and nonprofit organizations throughout Jefferson County seeking financial relief from the impacts of COVID-19 can apply online for a CARES Act Emergency Grant from the county. The funds are intended to provide a financial bridge until businesses and nonprofits can return to normal operations, and any recipients will be required to prove the funds were spent to offset the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Tuesday, May 19, the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners authorized an emergency grant program, funded through the CARES Act to support small businesses in unincorporated Jefferson County and nonprofit organizations located in Jefferson County and serving Jeffco residents. Businesses located in incorporated areas of Jefferson County should contact their municipalities to determine their eligibility for grants provided through the cities.
More information about the Emergency Grant Program and the formal application are located on the CARES Act Emergency Grant Program page on the Jefferson County website https://www.jeffco.us/4057/CARES-Act-Emergency-Grant-Funding. To be considered, grant applications must be submitted by June 9. Once the submission period has closed, all applications will be evaluated and funding recommendations provided to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration. Individual grant amounts will depend upon the number of applicants, availability of funds, and demonstrated need.
