Conservation Greenprint five-year strategic plan cover photo

Jeffco Open Space (JCOS) is looking for public input regarding the draft Conservation Greenprint, our five-year strategic plan (2020-2025). It includes our vision statement, organizational values, and 10 goals. The draft goals are ambitious and will aid JCOS in responding to the desires of the community in an ever-changing context.

For the past eleven months, staff has worked with the Open Space Advisory Committee, partners and stakeholders, and the greater Jeffco community to develop a draft of this strategic plan. An internal staff engagement plan garnered input from across the organization, including several workshops. The JCOS vision statement has been revised to better reflect our organization, while our values have been concentrated and our mission remains steady to Preserve open space and parkland, Protect park and natural resources and Provide healthy, nature-based experiences.

From September through November 2019, over 2,800 survey responses were gathered from the community at parks and online, thanks to our incredible JCOS volunteers. Additional engagement took place with partners and stakeholders in small group discussions. This work was devoted to both Information sharing about the strategic plan update and gathering informed input related to the refinement of goals and metrics for accomplishing the ambitious plans for the next five years outlined in the Conservation Greenprint.

Please review the draft Conservation Greenprint presentation between April 27 – May 17 and share your thoughts to [email protected] to be recorded for public comment.
