The mother and father of two-year-old Jada’Marie Glenn-Turner have been charged in her death. Rashad Turner, DOB: 4-8-90, and Denisha Chelyce Woodsking, DOB: 10-1-90, have each been charged with one count of Child Abuse Resulting in Death (F2). According to the arrest affidavit, the toddler died from fentanyl in her system.
On February 24, 2020 Lakewood police were called to the Crosslands Motel at 715 Kipling Street regarding a child who was not breathing. When police and other first responders arrived, the child was determined to be deceased.
Turner, Woodsking, Jada’Marie, and two other young children had been living at the motel for several days prior to Jada’Marie’s death. According
to the arrest affidavit, police found a trash bag in the motel room which contained such drugs as Xanax, oxycontin, heroin, Suboxone, and marijuana.
Following autopsy, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office found there to be fentanyl in Jada’Marie’s system and ruled fentanyl toxicity to be the cause of death.
Rashad Turner and Denisha Woodsking are each being held on $50,000 bond at the Jefferson County jail. They have preliminary hearing set on May 12.
