Grahpic of Cyber Security images such as locks, email, hackers, security breaches

As many of us are working remotely and our children are being educated at home -- and there is increasing anxiety related to Covid, we are seeing more attackers attempting to take advantage.

Attackers are attempting to use this time of uncertainty to trick you into doing things you might otherwise not do.  Below is a summary of just some of the attacks that have made the news:

  • Fake Websites: Attackers created a fake Coronavirus map that will infect your computer and steal personal information just by visiting the website.
  • Phony Door-to-Door Solicitations: Criminals are going door to door pretending to be Health workers offering free Coronavirus testing.
  • Home Delivery Scams: Attackers are sending emails with malicious links and attachments notifying you that your delivery has been delayed or cancelled.
  • Malicious Text Messages: Attackers are texting fake messages about Coronavirus stimulus payments that contain links to malicious sites.
  • Work from Home Scams:  Criminals are sending emails claiming to be work from home opportunities.

If you think you are a victim of a scam or attempted fraud involving COVID-19, you can report it without leaving your home.

Please continue to be vigilant not only with your physical health but with your cyber health.
