[ARCHIVED] Everyone Counts Homeless Survey

PIT photo

Community agencies and human services teams are gearing up for the 2020 Everyone Counts Point In Time survey. The purpose is to count those experiencing homelessness at one point in time, from sundown on January 27 to sundown on January 28, 2020.

Community, faith-based, and local government organizations conduct the survey and the data gathered helps provide a snapshot of homelessness. This snapshot allows Jefferson County to better identify the trends and service needs of our community.

We are recruiting volunteers to work alongside service providers to conduct interviews with homeless individuals and families in emergency shelters, human service organizations, parks, riverbeds, and other places where people experiencing homelessness congregate. Please review the available options, listed by county, at the volunteer sign-up page.

More about the Everyone Counts Homelessness Survey:
Everyone Counts is the annual Point in Time Survey led by Metropolitan Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI) across the seven-county metro Denver region. The Point in Time generates a snapshot of homelessness on a single night and raises public awareness, promotes collaboration across seven counties, provides needed data, helps us apply for increased housing funds, and reminds the community that Everyone Counts. In 2018, Metro Denver counted 5,317 total people experiencing homelessness, with 1,308 of those people counted staying outside in places like tents, vehicles, parks, or underpasses.
