Former Sheriff’s Deputy Sentenced to Jail

Myriah Lovato

A former Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy was sentenced to 45 days jail and two years probation for engaging in a relationship with an inmate while she was assigned to the detention center.  Myriah Lynn Lovato, DOB: 9-2-89, appeared in court on November 7 to be sentenced.

Between October and December, 2018, Lovato was assigned to the Jefferson County jail when she engaged in an intimate relationship with an incarcerated inmate while in her official capacity as a sworn law enforcement officer. 

Lovato was hired by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in January, 2016.

On September 16, 2019, she pled guilty to Introduction of Contraband (F4); and two counts of Official Misconduct (M2).
