Nature Nuts: Woodpeckers and Nuthatches

Tap-tap-tap! What’s tapping on that tree? Maybe it’s a woodpecker or a nuthatch! Learn about these sometimes noisy but always fascinating birds of the ponderosa pine tree forest. You’ll learn why they are tapping, what they eat, where they raise their families, and much more! Then you can take a hike and go birdwatching for these funny fellows.

Program details:

This program is specifically designed for children ages 3-5 yrs with an adult. We ask that your child has reached his/her third birthday before participating in this class.

Participant limit: 15 preschoolers (3 -5 yrs old)

This is an outdoor program which includes portions with an educator and portions on your own. Dress for the weather (jackets, sweatshirts, hats, sunscreen) and wear comfortable walking shoes. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
