Project Location:
Improvements will be completed along the east side of South Alkire Street from South Zang Court to West Belleview Avenue.

Project Scope:
South Alkire Street roadway improvements will be constructed between South Zang Court and West Belleview Avenue. The project will include:
- Widening the east side of the roadway to allow two 11-foot northbound travel lanes
- Adding left turn lanes
- Adding a four-foot bike lane on the east side of the roadway
- Raised concrete medians
- Curb and gutter, and eight-foot sidewalks on the east side of South Alkire Street
- Storm drainage improvements

This project has been awarded to Hamon Infrastructure Inc. in the amount of $1,960,000.00.
Project Update (as of September 1, 2022):
The general contractor, Hamon Infrastructure Inc. (Hamon) completed all work. The project is currently being closed out and is expected to be placed on warranty soon.
Jefferson County Road and Bridge Division completed the top lift of asphalt and final striping within the last two weeks.
