Project Scope:
The McIntyre Street Roadway Improvements Project,
fourth and final phase, will reconstruct McIntyre Street between W. 52nd Avenue and W. 56th Place. Roadway improvements will include:
Widening of the road to four 11-foot travel lanes with raised center medians
- Storm drainage improvements
- 4-foot bike lanes
- 8-foot sidewalks
- Reconstruction of the traffic signal at W. 54th Avenue. New traffic signal poles will be installed on the east side of the intersection.
- Relocation of North Table Mountain Water and Sanitation District water main
Project Update (as of February 3, 2021):
The general contractor, Edge Contracting (Edge), continues with construction on McIntyre Street Improvements from W. 52nd Avenue to W. 56th Place.
Edge is currently:
- Relocating the North Table Mountain Water and Sanitation District 12-inch water main from W. 52nd Avenue to north of W. 55th Avenue
- Placing new curb, gutter, and sidewalk on the east side of McIntyre Street
Starting Friday, February 3 (pending weather), the traffic configuration at W. 54th Avenue extending north to W. 56th Place will be shifted to the two east side traffic lanes. The traffic configuration between W. 54th Avenue and W. 56th Place will remain in a two lane / two-way traffic setup. The west side lanes will be closed for construction.

During this construction project, please be prepared for longer commute times, increased traffic congestion (especially at peak times), and slower speed limits along the affected stretch of McIntyre Street. The speed limit is 25 mph with fines doubled through the construction zone.
