Project Background:
Jefferson County and Mile High Flood District (MHFD) have partnered to replace three existing storm sewer culverts along West Belleview Avenue between Red Deer Drive and West Quincy Avenue. The project is a 50 / 50 cost share between Jefferson County and Mile High Flood District. The project is removing and replacing three existing corrugated metal pipes with new concrete box culverts. This process will include removal of the existing culverts, installation of the new box culverts, wingwalls, and erosion protection. The project will improve the flow of Weaver Creek under West Belleview Avenue and include channel improvements.
See the Mile High Flood District Stream Projects website.
Project Schedule:
Construction for the culvert replacements will begin early and will continue until the spring of 2024. During construction, the contractor will be required to provide an alternating travel lane. All residential access will be maintained during construction. The single travel lane will be controlled with temporary signals and have minimal wait times. The lane closures will only be on West Belleview Avenue during active construction and residents will be given notice beforehand.
