Jefferson County will be lining existing storm sewer culverts along West Spread Eagle Mountain from approximately South Mt. Marcy to West Laurel Place and Crestone Mountain from approximately Johnson Court to South Jellison Street.
The existing storm sewer system contains failing corrugated metal pipe. The pipe lining will extend the lifespan of the storm sewer.
The project entails installing new pipe liner in the existing corrugated metal pipes. This process will involve cleaning, repairing, and lining the existing culverts to increase the life span of the pipes.
This project received American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. For more information, please visit the county's ARPA website.
Construction for the culvert lining will occur during spring and summer of 2023.
Project Impact on Traffic:
During the project, the contractor will be required to provide a travel lane during operations. All residential access will be maintained during construction. The construction is anticipated to be completed within approximately a week of commencement at each location. The single travel lane will be controlled with flaggers and have minimal wait times. This closure will only be on West Spread Eagle Mountain and Crestone Mountain during active construction. Residents will be given notice beforehand.
Jefferson County will provide an updated notice of traffic impacts before construction activities begin.
