Project Location:
Improvements will be made on South Hatch Drive and Buffalo Park Road between Wilmot Elementary and Evergreen High School.
Project Background:
This section in Evergreen is lacking pedestrian connections to Wilmot Elementary and Evergreen High School. The project will improve the connection to the schools, community park, parking lots, and trail.
Project Scope:
The project will install a new sidewalk on the south side of Buffalo Park Road and concrete island at the intersection with Hatch Drive. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramps and crosswalks will be installed and the project will create an updated pedestrian crossing at the intersection. The pedestrian traffic signal will be replaced with a rectangular rapid flashing beacon and improved intersection. The existing roadway has deteriorating asphalt that will be patched, repaired, and restriped.
This project received Evergreen Local Improvement District (ELID) funding.
Project Schedule:
Design and coordination with Jeffco Public Schools for this project is underway. Construction will occur in summer 2023. On June 2, the county received a Colorado Department of Transportation Revitalizing Main Street grant.
