Jefferson County will replace two culverts. One culvert (B-19-M006) is on Lewis Ridge Road, 50 feet north of the intersection with Aspen Lane. The other (B-19-M007) is 750 feet downstream and east of the intersection of Aspen Lane and Larkspur Drive. Both are corrugated metal pipes. After a recent inspection, Jefferson County determined the condition of the pipes warrants replacement of the culverts.

Project Scope:

Jefferson County will replace the corrugated metal pipe along Lewis Ridge Road with a reinforced concrete pipe. The corrugated metal pipe along Larkspur Drive will be replaced with a reinforced concrete box. Concrete headwalls and concrete block wingwalls will be installed at both locations. The county will also install riprap zones on the upstream and downstream areas of the pipe for scour protection. Within the Larkspur Drive project site, the compacted asphalt milling roadway will be replaced with a paved asphalt surface.

This project received American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. For more information, please visit the county's ARPA website.

Project Schedule:

The project is currently in the design phase and will go out for bid in spring 2023 for fall 2023 construction.

Project Impacts on Traffic:

During the construction phase, the contractor will be required to provide an alternating single travel lane. The single travel lane will likely be controlled with temporary traffic signals or flaggers.  Please expect minimal delays and be alert while driving through the construction site.
