In partnership with Alfred Benesch & Co., Jefferson County is in the process of developing plans to provide a safer pedestrian crossing of West Coal Mine Avenue at the South Van Gordon Way intersection. Two conceptual alternatives provided by the consultant, as well as a no-build scenario, are being evaluated for their feasibility, cost, and traffic impacts. A final project report will provide the county with a preferred conceptual design that outlines alternatives considered, traffic analysis, the evaluation process, and incorporate feedback from residents.
The county tentatively intends to complete design and construction of the preferred conceptual design by Fall 2023.
