Happy Child Support Awareness Month!
In their quest to create a better, safer life for Jefferson County residents, our Child Support Services programs is dedicated to ensuring all children receive financial and medical support from each parent. This is accomplished by locating each parent, establishing paternity and support obligations, and enforcing those obligations.
Jefferson County offers child support services to custodial parents, non-custodial parents, and guardians. Those receiving public assistance (cash benefits from the county) are automatically referred and a Child Support Services case is opened for our services which may include collection of state debt. Services are available regardless of income or financial status.
Our services:
- Enforce support orders
- Establish child and medical support orders
- Establish paternity
- Locate non-custodial parents
- Modify support orders
