Project Overview:
Jefferson County will replace two culverts. One culvert (B-19-M003) on Palomino Drive is approximately 100 feet north of Stagecoach Boulevard. The other culvert (B-19-M004) on Stagecoach Boulevard is approximately 200 feet east of Palomino Drive. Inspections of the existing corrugated metal pipes recommended replacement.
Project Scope:
The project entails replacement of the existing corrugated metal pipes with 48-inch diameter plastic pipes. The new pipes will change alignment to improve hydraulic capacity and alignment with the stream bed. The project also includes installing riprap on the upstream and downstream sides of the culverts for erosion protection.
Project Schedule:
Construction began in early September and continued through October 2022. Project cleanup and completion is occurring the first week of November.
Traffic Impacts:
During the project, Palomino Drive and Stagecoach Boulevard will be closed. Local detours will be provided and access to all residences and businesses will remain open. This will allow for the existing waterline to be relocated and shorten the overall length of the project.
