Project Background:
Jefferson County replaced a culvert (B-25-M004) on Drew Hill Road over Ralston Creek, 4.3 miles northeast of Golden Gate Canyon Road. The culvert in this location included a corrugated metal pipe. The county had the pipe inspected and determined the existing condition of the pipe warranted replacement of the culvert.

Project Scope:
The project entailed replacement of the existing corrugated metal pipe with a reinforced concrete box culvert. The box culvert included Redi-Rock wingwalls. The project also included installing riprap areas on the upstream and downstream sides of the culvert for erosion protection.
This project received American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. For more information, please visit the county's ARPA website.
Project Schedule:
Construction for the culvert replacement was completed by the contractor in May 2023. Jefferson County Road and Bridge will be working on patching and grading the unpaved section of Drew Hill Road, including the section within the project limits. Road and Bridge plans on completing the roadway grading activities in June.
Project Impact on Traffic:
While Jefferson County completes roadway grading and patching work on the unpaved sections of Drew Hill Road, there may be flaggers directing alternating single-lane travel during working hours.
