Project Background:
Jefferson County will replace a culvert (B-25-M004) on Drew Hill Road over Ralston Creek, 4.3 miles northeast of Golden Gate Canyon Road. The culvert in this location includes an existing corrugated metal pipe. The county recently had the pipe inspected and determined the existing condition of the pipe warrants replacement of the culvert.

Project Scope:
The project entails replacement of the existing corrugated metal pipe with a reinforced concrete box culvert. The box culvert will include Redi-Rock wingwalls. The project also includes installing riprap areas on the upstream and downstream sides of the culvert for erosion protection.
This project received American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. For more information, please visit the county's ARPA website.
Project Schedule:
Construction for the culvert replacement will start in March and will be completed prior to the end of May 2023.
Project Impact on Traffic:
During the project, the contractor will be required to provide an alternating single travel lane. The single travel lane will likely be controlled with temporary traffic signals and have minimal wait times. The county will close this section of Drew Hill Road from April 6 through April 12. This closure will only be on Drew Hill Road at the project location. Afterwards, the roadway will return to having an alternating single travel lane until completion of the project.
A sinkhole caused by a failed section of pipe.
