On Tuesday, April 19, Commissioners Kraft-Tharp, Kerr and Dahlkemper attended the Jefferson County Open Space Conservation Awards. In addition to the special partners and volunteers that were recognized, this year marks the anniversary of 50 years of conservation for Jefferson County Open Space. In 1972 voters overwhelmingly supported a half cent sales tax to Preserve and Protect Open Space and Parkland and Provide healthy nature-based experiences.
The event was attended by nearly three hundred of our city and park districts partners from across the County, business partners, nonprofit conservation partners, fellow public land managers, Open Space staff, and incredible volunteers.
