Project Location:
Improvements have been made at the intersection of Bergen Parkway and Sugarbush Drive in Evergreen.
View this project on the Jeffco Roadway Project dashboard (an interactive mapping application). Under the Capital Improvement Project list at the right-hand side of the dashboard, scroll to and click "Bergen Parkway at Sugarbush".
Project Background:
Bergen Parkway at Sugarbush Drive is a main intersection in north Evergreen with connections to local businesses. The old islands had cracked and broken concrete, and the pedestrian ramps were not up to current standards.
See the Bergen Parkway and Sugarbush Drive Island Extension Layout (PDF).
Project Scope:
The project replaced the existing concrete islands and corner ramps at the intersection. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramps and crosswalks were installed and the islands are no larger, creating a safer pedestrian crossing at the intersection. On Sugarbush Drive, asphalt was replaced, repaved, and restriped.
