CR-65 at Bergen Park Pedestrian Crossing, Evergreen, CO 80439

Posted on October 15, 2021 at 3:34 PM by Lindsay Townsend

Project Location:
Improvements will be completed in a section of County Road 75 (CR-65) between Evergreen Parkway and Bergen Parkway.

See Bergen Park pedestrian crossing site map.

Project Background:
CR-65 is a main east-west roadway through the Bergen Park Activity Center in north Evergreen. An existing social path at the project site shows that many residents and visitors are crossing CR-65. This project will improve mobility by creating an accessible connection between the housing and commerce on the north side of CR-65 to the regional trail, parks, open space, and Regional Transportation District (RTD) transportation center on the south side of CR-65.

Project Scope:
The project will install Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramps, a crosswalk, and flashing pedestrian signs to create safe crossing of CR-65. There will also be an eight-foot sidewalk connection to Denver Mountain Parks Trail in Bergen Park and minor drainage improvements along the south side of CR-65.

Project Schedule:
Construction for this project is anticipated to begin on October 25 and is planned to take a few weeks (weather permitting).

Project Impact on Traffic:
In general, work hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. There may be times when CR-65 will be reduced to a single travel lane controlled by construction flaggers. Please be aware of construction activity and heavy equipment while driving in the area. We ask for your cooperation in observing traffic control barricades and warning devices.
