Utility agencies and their contractors completed their respective underground utility line relocations in advance of the roadway reconstruction.
The project will progress from east to west along West Quincy Avenue and be constructed in segments. They are:
- Segment 1 - South Swadley Court to West Quinn Drive.
- Segment 2 - West Quinn Drive to South Wright Way.
- Segment 3 - South Wright Way to South Youngfield Street.
- Segment 4 - South Youngfield Street to South Beech Way.
The roadway contractor is working on Segment 1 on the north side of West Quincy Avenue. The contractor is finalizing earthwork and preparing for asphalt paving on February 10 and 11.
On February 13, traffic will be switched onto the new pavement on the north side of West Quincy Avenue to begin construction the south portion of Segment 1. The contractor will also begin construction on the north side of West Quincy Avenue in Segments 2 and 3. Please see CEI's Construction Update Flyer for the new traffic pattern on West Quincy Avenue. Using an alternate route around the construction on West Quincy Avenue is strongly encouraged.
The overall construction timeline on West Quincy Avenue Phase 2 will be from October 10, 2022 through summer 2023.
Project updates will be posted as the contractor proceeds with work.
