[ARCHIVED] W. Quincy Avenue Phase 2 Roadway (S. Beech Way to S. Swadley Court), Morrison, CO 80465

Link to see Quincy Avenue Phase II roadway layout.Jefferson County is completing the final design of W. Quincy Avenue from S. Beech Way to S. Swadley Court. This will complete the second phase of the Quincy Avenue Corridor Improvements to widen the road to an arterial standard.

A major water line replacement project is currently underway on W. Quincy Avenue between S. Beech Way and S. Youngfield Street. In this segment, the roadway will be one lane and controlled by temporary traffic signals at each end. The roadway will be in this traffic alignment through July of this year.

  • The length of W. Quincy Avenue that is one-lane and controlled by temporary traffic signals is 1,930 feet.
  • The speed limit through the construction zone is 25 mph with fines doubled.
  • Drivers will have a maximum wait time (red phase) at the temporary traffic signals of three minutes and thirty seconds.
  • Drivers will have a maximum proceed time (green phase) at the temporary traffic signals of thirty seconds.

Xcel Energy crews will continue work this week at the W. Quincy Avenue and S. Simms Street roundabout for utility line replacements and improvements. Crews at the roundabout are relocating major underground electric lines. There will be overnight closures at the S. Simms Street roundabout this week as the work progresses.

Within the next two to three weeks, Xcel Energy gas crews will begin replacement of gas lines. This work will be from S. Wright Way to W. Quinn Drive. There will be some local road closures as gas lines are installed.

The full roadway construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2022.

Jefferson County and Concrete Express (CEI) completed construction of drainage improvements at W. Quincy Avenue and S. Arbutus Way.
