Project Update (as of September 22, 2022):

In September, crews will begin the following construction activities on the east side of South Kipling Parkway and West Bowles Avenue:

  • Construction and traffic signal installation.
  • Earthwork, sidewalk, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramp, and pedestrian island installation.
  • Irrigation system installation.
  • Grading and concrete activities.
  • Asphalt paving.

Travel Impacts

Nightly closures of the South Kipling Parkway and West Bowles Avenue intersection will occur Monday, September 26 through Wednesday, September 28 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. These closures will allow construction crews to install new traffic signal mast arms over traffic lanes. All traffic signals will be placed on red and professionals will direct traffic. Right lanes will be closed at the intersection to provide space for a crane. This work is weather-dependent and subject to change. Expect delays. Alternate routes advised.

Speeds in the area are reduced to 35 mph. Please proceed with caution through the work and watch for flaggers and construction crews.

See SEMA Construction's project update flyer.(PDF).

Construction is anticipated to continue through the fall of 2022. There will be times when the number of traveled lanes on South Kipling Parkway will be reduced through the project site. The speed limit is reduced with fines doubled in the construction zone.
