To battle this, the state of Colorado has established a vehicle emission-testing program designed to help improve air quality in and around Denver, Boulder and the Northern Front Range. The seller is responsible for a new emission test.

These vehicles receive a seven year exemption (from model year) and are categorized in two groups for emission-testing purposes.
Hybrid Powered Vehicles are subject to On Board Diagnostic (OBD) testing and will follow the Gasoline-Powered Vehicles testing cycle.
Motorcycles are not subject to emission testing at this time.
