Planning & Zoning

clickable image for COVID closure info Opens in new windowEffective March 16, 2020, Jefferson County offices are closed to the public. Many offices will be providing services online. Please contact individual offices to learn more and visit the COVID Closure page for countywide closure information.

Planning & Zoning staff will continue to work remotely.  All BCC, PC, and BOA Hearings are suspended, and we do not have a firm date for when they will resume.  Timeframes for all other permits will be affected by the change in operations, but we will strive to minimize any delays in service.  We are still accepting all types of applications in digital form. No paper copies are being accepted at this time.

We will do our best to process these online submittals to minimize delays in service.

The Jefferson County Planning and Zoning Division provides the general public with a variety of planning services and information based on land development regulation and zoning resolution for the unincorporated portion of Jefferson County. These services include, but are not limited to: interpretation of current and future land use, development and subdivision consultation, and issuance of fence, sign, grading, driveway and building permits.
