From snow plows and construction equipment to work trucks and lawnmowers, Fleet Services keeps Jefferson County moving! Fleet Services operates a countywide fleet management program to oversee the county's vehicle needs in an efficient manner.

Responsibilities

Fleet is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance and repair of the county’s fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. Data such as mileage, fuel usage, vehicle repair costs, utilization, life cycle and replacement processes are collected and analyzed to maintain a safe and efficient fleet.

Economies

Fleet Services continues to seek ways to become even more efficient with tax dollars. In recent years, Jefferson County has been a leader in adopting the use of hybrid vehicles, including the very first hybrid snow plow! Fleet also manages the county's fuel inventory and tracks all fuel dispensed into county vehicles.
