October 9, 2013
Schreiber was released from the custody of the Colorado Department of Corrections in October 2013 and is currently residing in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He was convicted of two counts of attempted sexual assault on a child in 2000 and multiple counts of indecent exposure between 1994 and 2009, all of which occurred in Jefferson County. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has no legal authority to direct where a sex offender may live. Unless court restrictions exist, they are constitutionally free to live wherever they choose. Sex offenders are required by law to notify law enforcement of their residence and law enforcement is authorized to share that information with members of their communities. In the case of sexually violent predators, law enforcement must actively notify citizens.
