The Jefferson County STEAM (Service, Transparency, Equity, Access, and Modernization) Advisory Committee is being formed to create a link between constituents and the Clerk. The committee will help the Clerk’s office create welcoming, accessible, and transparent processes that serve the needs of constituents in modern and culturally competent ways. It will also work to safeguard the right to vote – ensuring that every eligible voter is able to cast their ballot and have that ballot accurately counted.
The committee has no rulemaking authority, but will provide feedback and advice on issues that affect voters, drivers, property owners, business owners, and other residents of Jefferson County. We are looking for members who are active in their community, live across the county, and have a diversity of views, life experiences, and expertise. Meetings will generally be held on the first Wednesday of the month from 4-5:30pm during January, March, May, July, September, October and November.
Committee members will be announced in the coming weeks. Please check back soon for more information!
