Notice to Resident - Concrete and Road Improvements in Your Neighborhood

UPCOMING CONCRETE AND ROAD IMPROVEMENTS IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD  

Dear Homeowner/Resident: 

The Road and Bridge Division is scheduled to perform road work in your neighborhood. We will strive to complete the necessary maintenance and improvements to assure the best possible conditions for the optimum safety and accessibility of the road network.  

The work will consist of the following four phases, it will take several weeks and may not occur in the following order: 

 Phase 1: Concrete Replacement  

  • Work hours begin at 6:30 A.M. 
  • Longest of all phases 
  • Silva Construction will replace damaged curb, gutter, and sidewalk in your neighborhood (Concrete Criteria Rating System available on our website) 
  • Flyers will be distributed notifying residents when work will begin. The flyers will explain the cooperation needed from residents to minimize inconvenience and expedite the project.  
  • Please water lawns after working hours; excessive water will damage fresh concrete  
  • Driveway curb cuts are no longer provided unless there is one existing  

Phase 2: Milling and Patching  

  • Work hours will begin at 6:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Monday through Thursday 
  • Generally, work will begin after the concrete has been replaced and will consist of removal and replacement of damaged asphalt 

Phase 3: Overlay Milling 

  • Work hours will begin at 6:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Monday through Thursday 
  • The top layer of asphalt is removed where needed  

Phase 4: Asphalt Overlay 

  • Working hours will be 6:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Monday through Thursday 
  • A final layer of asphalt is placed over the entire street surface 

Flaggers are used as needed for safety, guiding you through the work zone.     

Please be aware of the heavy equipment and increased activity while driving in the area. We ask for your cooperation in observing the traffic control barricades, warning devices, and “Remove vehicles from street” signs that will be placed. In the case of inclement weather, work will be delayed. In the interest of safety, always seek workers’ attention before approaching the worksite.  

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience; once this work is complete, we should not have to return to your street for many years to come.
