Jefferson County Workforce Innovation Grant (WIG) Request for Applications

Workforce Innovation Grant (WIG) Program promotes innovation to improve outcomes for learners and workers, including underserved populations, by promoting partnerships and helping prepare Coloradans for well-paying, quality jobs.
Workforce Innovation Grant (WIG) Request for Applications (RFA) is being offered through Jefferson County Business and Workforce Center serving Jefferson, Clear Creek, and Gilpin counties.
Funding Goal
The goal of the Workforce Innovation Grant is to help solve pressing workforce challenges by financially supporting innovative pandemic-recovery plans that will;
- Help build in-demand skills; or
- Connect workers and learners to quality jobs; or
- Drive employer engagement in employee development
Review grant focus areas and allowable activities to learn more.
Investment Priority
All qualified organizations that submit a complete application will be reviewed by the WIG Review Panel. The WIG Review Panel will prioritize proposals that are innovative, promote or enhance diversity, equity and inclusion, have a clear mechanism for measuring success, and address a pressing workforce challenge that resulted from the pandemic.
Funding Type
The Workforce Innovation Grant is a reimbursement grant. Funds are provided to successful grant recipients after expenses have been incurred. See the RFA Guidance Document for information on allowable costs, ineligible costs, and the reimbursement process.
Organizations Eligible to Apply for Funding
Eligible entities include:
- Public and Private Sector Employers, Employer Organization, or Trade Associations
- Apprenticeship Sponsors
- Community-Based Organizations
- Colorado Workforce Centers
- Formalized Sector Partnerships recognized by the Colorado Workforce Development Center
Application Process
Applications will be accepted August 14, 2023 through September 8, 2023, 4:00 p.m. MST. You are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The window for applications is short, and follow-up materials may be requested after application submittal to ensure entities have met eligibility requirements.
WIG Program Key Dates:
- August 14, 2023 - Proposal application portal is open.
- September 8, 2023 - Proposals due by 4:00 p.m. MST.
- On or before September 26, 2023 - Applicants will receive notification of initial funding decision.
- October 2023 - Awarded projects start (unless otherwise agreed upon).
