ALERT: Effective at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020, the Sheriff’s Office is closing all our public lobbies and suspending certain public services for the remainder of this week to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

All CONCEALED HANDGUN PERMITS applications are currently suspended. If you should have any questions regarding a concealed handgun permit you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 303-271-5542.
Citizens whose CHP permits expire while we are closed should contact us via email at email@example.com . Providing permitees otherwise remain eligible, we will provide an email response extending the permit for an additional six months past the listed expiration date. Permitees may print the email response and carry it with them as verification. Late fees will be waived as well. We will not be accepting new CHP applications until such time as we can safely restore public access to our building.
TRAFFIC TICKETS can be paid online. For information on how to pay your traffic ticket online please go to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s webpage or you can call 303-271-5345 or 303-271-5348 to speak to one of our traffic clerks who can assist you with further information.
For all SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATIONS, please contact 303-271-5855 and leave a message with your name and a phone number you can be contacted at to schedule a registration appointment. We will schedule appointments Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm.
The Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the processing, maintaining, archiving, retrieving and releasing of information and copies of reports in accordance with federal and state regulations and guidelines.
