Equine and Agriculture Heritage Commission

Purpose:

The Board of County Commissioners is committed to preserving the equine and agriculture activities currently hosted at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. In an effort to further preserve this heritage in Jefferson County and address issues or concerns as they arise, the commissioners approved the formation of the Equine and Agriculture Heritage Commission in 2021. More information on this commission can be found on the Board of County Commissioner's website. 

Duties:

As determined by the Board of County Commissioners, the responsibility of the Committee shall include:

• Explore all possible ways to support the preservation of equine and agriculture heritage uses in Jefferson County.

• Focus on inventory and cost analysis of activities and facilities.

• Engage the community to bring insight, questions, and issues forward for exploration.
