Colorado Noxious Weed Awareness Campaign
2020 marked the 30th anniversary of the Noxious Weed Law. Jeffco Invasive Species Management partnered with the Colorado Department of Agriculture and The Colorado Weed Management Association to raise awareness about the impacts and the need to control noxious weeds..
Noxious weeds affect us all. Whether we are a native plant or wildlife enthusiast, an outdoors-man, a recreationalist, a farmer, or homeowner, noxious weeds impact resources we need and appreciate.
It is estimated that the associated costs of noxious weeds impacts the US economy by up to $120 billion a year. It is also estimated that there are at least 100 million infested acres in North America.
Together we can make a difference
By becoming educated about noxious weeds, their impacts, control, and prevention, you can help stop the spread of these invasive species.

Denver Botanical EcoFlora Project
The Denver EcoFlora Project is a collaboration between Denver Botanic Gardens, New York Botanical Garden, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services to engage citizen scientists with biodiversity in the Denver – Boulder metro area.
The Denver EcoFlora Project is designed to meaningfully connect citizens with biodiversity and to assemble novel observations and data on the metro area’s flora to better inform policy decisions and conservation strategies.
Each month DBG will sponsor an EcoQuest focusing on a native or invasive plant. Participants will log their observations through iNaturalist. This is a great way for Jeffco residents to help contribute to the local knowledge of plants and their abundance.
