Appointments and Reopening Information

From 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Monday - Thursday we will be accepting a limited number of walk ins for titling, new vehicle registration, and handicap placards at some of our offices: Arvada, Evergreen, Lakewood, and Littleton. (Please note that our Golden office will not be accepting walk-in customers, and there are no walk ins for renewals.)

We remain open by appointment only during all other hours.

Error Information and Late Fees

The Department of Revenue has identified an error in a limited number of registration renewals. If you renewed after June 30 and you were charged a late fee for the months of March through June, the Department of Revenue will be automatically processing refunds and issuing payment in the month of September. There is no need to contact us, as this is automatic.  Not all counties are included in these refunds. Jefferson County residents affected will receive their refunds automatically. If you were a resident of and renewed in a different county, please check that county’s website for details. We will continue to work diligently to ensure the most accurate, most timely service possible in these challenging times.

Trying to renew currently and notice a late fee?

We encourage you to continue to renew so you avoid any additional late fees. Please see our Late fees section here for more information and additional renewal options.

Driver’s Licenses: The county does not issue or oversee driver’s licenses. The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles issues driver’s licenses or identification cards.
