Reopening Information

We are open to the public as of June 1—but on an appointment-only basis. To protect our staff and the public, we are adhering to public health guidance and strongly encourage the use of face masks.

The Clerk and Recorder, like most Jeffco offices, has transitioned to a four-day work week of 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.


Clerk to board staff responsibilities include:

  • The Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder is clerk to the Board of County Commissioners per C.R.S. 30-10-405.
  • Preparing minutes and resolutions for Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners hearings and custodian of related records approved by the board
  • Custodian of contracts
  • Posting meetings and agendas of special districts and other required notices
  • Processing applications and renewals for all liquor licenses and other liquor permits for businesses within unincorporated Jefferson County
  • Processing applications for passport requests
  • Secretarial duties to the liquor licensing authority, emergency 911 board and cultural council, which is responsible for receiving and approving grants for Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) applicants
