The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has no legal authority to direct where a sex offender may live. Unless court restrictions exist, they are constitutionally free to live wherever they choose. Sex offenders are required by law to notify law enforcement of their residence and law enforcement is authorized to share that information with members of their communities. In the case of sexually violent predators, law enforcement must actively notify citizens.
There are about 19,819 sex offenders registered in Colorado, including about 402 in unincorporated Jefferson County. The Sheriff’s Office is available to provide information regarding sexual assault and personal safety. The Rape Assistance Program (303) 322-7273 is available to make referrals to other local resources to help those who have been impacted by sexual assault or this notification process. If you have information regarding criminal activity by Fritzke or any other offender, please call 911 or (303) 271-0211.
