The Clerk and Recorder's office is open to the public by appointment only. We encourage our customers to complete transactions online as appointments are limited and phone wait times are longer than normal due to COVID-19.

We are now offering passport services

 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY


Processing Times: 

Routine Service: 10 to 12 weeks, door-to-door, from date of application.

Expedited Services: 4 to 6 weeks, door-to-door, from date of application.

Expired MORE Than Five Years - or - Never Had A Passport

Office Visit Required

Bring the following to your Office Visit:

  • Everyone applying for a passport must be present
  • Expired or last passport (if applicable) OR Birth Certificate - Original or Certified Copy
  • Colorado photo ID or driver’s license
  • Completed UnsignedApplication
  • One color passport photo, 2 inches by 2 inches
    • We offer photo services for $5 during your appointment
  • Two (2) separate fees due with your application
    • Passport Book and/or Card fees made payable to the "U.S. Department of State" - Checks and money orders only
    • Application processing fee payable to "Jefferson County" - Credit and debit cards, checks, and money orders accepted

Adult Passport - 18+
Lost or Stolen

Office Visit Required

Bring the following to your Office Visit:

  • Everyone applying for a passport must be present
  • Expired or last passport (if applicable) OR Birth Certificate - Original or Certified Copy
  • Colorado photo ID or driver’s license
  • Completed UnsignedApplication
  • Completed form for a lost or stolen passport
  • One color passport photo, 2 inches by 2 inches
    • We offer photo services for $5 during your appointment
  • Two (2) separate fees due with your application
    • Passport Book and/or Card fees made payable to the "U.S. Department of State" - Checks and money orders only
    • Application processing fee payable to "Jefferson County" - Credit and debit cards, checks, and money orders accepted

Child Passport
16 - 17 Years Old

Office Visit Required

Bring the following to your Office Visit:

  • One parent or guardian MUST be present with the minor at time of application
  • Expired or last passport (if applicable) OR Birth Certificate - Original or Certified Copy
  • Colorado photo ID or driver’s license
  • Completed UnsignedApplication
  • One color passport photo, 2 inches by 2 inches
    • We offer photo services for $5 during your appointment
  • Two (2) separate fees due with your application
    • Passport Book and/or Card fees made payable to the "U.S. Department of State" - Checks and money orders only

Child Passport
Under 16 Years Old

Office Visit Required

Bring the following to your Office Visit:

  • Both parents or guardians MUST be present with the child at time of application*
  • Expired or last passport (if applicable) AND Birth Certificate - Original or Certified Copy
  • Parent or Guardian Colorado photo ID or driver’s license
  • Completed UnsignedApplication
  • One color passport photo, 2 inches by 2 inches
    • We offer photo services for $5 during your appointment
  • Two (2) separate fees due with your application
    • Passport Book and/or Card fees made payable to the "U.S. Department of State" - Checks and money orders only
    • Application processing fee payable to "Jefferson County" - Credit and debit cards, checks, and money orders accepted
