Julie Story

As the director of Public Affairs for the fourth largest county in Colorado, Julie leads an all-star team on all aspects of communications, engagement and education for diverse audiences, both internal and external. The team is working hard to modernize the way the county engages and involves the community, our residents, and external partners in decision-making through innovative strategic planning. She continues to implement strategies for connecting the county to the public and employees via our digital platforms such as websites, social media, brand and more. Julie has been a Jeffco resident for more than 20 years, and she joined Jefferson County in 2008 after serving as creative director for a Fortune 100 telecommunications company and as a communications consultant focusing on technology companies. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Graphic Design from Baylor University in Texas.

Bailey Becker
Creative and Marketing Manager

Bailey joined Jefferson County in 2010. As the creative and marketing manager for Jeffco, Bailey specializes in visual and digital communications, including brand management, website management, photography and videography. She is dedicated to finding innovative and creative ways to better serve and engage with our community and promote the services and programs of the county. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, she started her career working for El Paso County, Colorado, where she spent more than six years in the Public Information Office. Bailey is a native to Colorado and grew up in the Denver metro area. Outside of work, you may find her biking, hiking a 14er or running around with her camera.  

Jeremy Fleming
Community Relations Manager

Jeremy is proud to be a Jeffco native and lifelong Lakewood resident. He earned his bachelor's degree in Journalism & Mass Communications from the University of Northern Colorado in 2004. Prior to joining Jefferson County in 2016, he was the marketing director for the West Metro Chamber of Commerce, where he made many connections in the community. His background is in website design, social media, email marketing and promoting events, such as 'Taste of the West' and 'Celebrate Women of Jefferson County.' He currently serves on the Steering Committees for the Jeffco Fair & Festival and the Leadership Jefferson County. When he’s not working, Jeremy enjoys being outdoors, especially hiking and mountain biking at Jeffco Open Space parks.

Dexter Foxworth
Events & Venues Director

Dexter believes that there is power in a party and that great experiences can move, delight and unite people! Blending a background in the nonprofit sector and as a senior leader for some of the world’s most recognizable entertainment brands, Dexter has successfully led the direction and execution for live television specials, special events, large-scale theatre, media stunts, projects, spectaculars, theme parks, grand openings, entertainment operations and more for companies such as ABC Television, Cirque du Soleil, Microsoft, NBC Universal, Planet Hollywood and the Walt Disney Company. As the director for Events & Venues in Jefferson County, Dexter oversees a dynamic team that hosts and produces thousands of events annually.

Cindy Pughes
Office Manager 

Cindy joined the Public Affairs team on November 13, 2018. Cindy has served Jefferson County for more than 20 years, working in the County Attorney’s Office, for the former Public Information Office, and most recently in the Transportation and Engineering Division. She brings a strong legacy of experience and dedication to our team. Her professional network, skills, and familiarity with our organization is key to effective collaboration across the county.
