Public Affairs Team
As the director of Public Affairs for the fourth largest county in Colorado, Kate leads an all-star team on all aspects of communications, engagement and education for diverse audiences, both internal and external. The team is working hard to modernize the way the county engages and involves the community, our residents, and external partners in decision-making through innovative strategic planning. Kate directed outreach efforts for the Colorado Water Conservation Board before joining Jeffco, and played a critical role in development of the state’s first ever water plan. She served in the Peace Corps in Mongolia, and holds a master’s degree in Public Administration, Environmental Policy, Management and Law from the University of Colorado Denver. She lives at the edge of the foothills with her husband and two children.
Digital Marketing Manager
Julie is the digital marketing manager for the Jefferson County Public Affairs team, where she implements strategies for connecting the county to the public and employees via our digital platforms such as websites, social media, brand and more. Julie has been a Jeffco resident for 19 years, and she joined Jefferson County in 2008 after serving as creative director for a Fortune 100 telecommunications company and as a communications consultant focusing on technology companies. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Graphic Design from Baylor University in Texas, and she lives in Genesee with her husband and daughter.
Bailey joined Jefferson County in 2010. She specializes in the visual communication aspects, including brand management, photography and videography. She is dedicated to finding innovative and creative ways to better serve and engage with our community and promote the services and programs of the county. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, she started her career working for El Paso County, Colorado, where she spent more than six years in the Public Information Office. Bailey is a native to Colorado and grew up in the Denver metro area.
Community Relations Manager
Jeremy is proud to be a Jeffco native and lifelong Lakewood resident. He earned his bachelor's degree in Journalism & Mass Communications from the University of Northern Colorado in 2004. Prior to joining Jefferson County in 2016, he was the Marketing Director for the West Metro Chamber of Commerce and is well connected in the community. He has many years of experience in website design, social media, email marketing and promoting events, such as 'Taste of the West' and 'Celebrate Women of Jefferson County.' He currently serves on the Steering Committee for Leadership Jefferson County and is the Chair of the County Day portion of the program. When he’s not working, Jeremy enjoys being outdoors, especially hiking and mountain biking at Jeffco Open Space parks.
Public Affairs Coordinator
Jessi joined Jefferson County in October 2017 as the Public Affairs Coordinator. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Colorado College and her Master of Sciences degree in Communication from Pepperdine University. She spent several years working in marketing and communications at various nonprofit organizations, including the Los Angeles Conservancy, Project Angel Heart and Foothills Animal Shelter. As the Public Affairs Coordinator, Jessi manages departmental operations, open records requests, and internal employee communications.
