Purpose:

The Juvenile Review Board reviews case files of youth committed to the custody of the Division of Youth Corrections to determine if the youth should be placed into a residential community placement in Jefferson County.

Duties:

  • Establishes procedures and criteria for reviewing and approving juvenile residential community placements in Jefferson County.
  • Reviews case files of children and within specified time frame, make decisions regarding community placement.
  • Understands that confidentiality and non-disclosure is vital.
  • Adheres to county procedures and policies with regard to all record-keeping.
  • Provides annual reporting to the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners.
