Overview
Road and Bridge maintains over 2,945 lane miles of paved and 647 lane miles of gravel roadways in unincorporated Jefferson County.

In the most cost-effective manner, Road and Bridge performs necessary maintenance and improvements to the County’s infrastructure assuring the best possible conditions for the optimum safety and accessibility of the general public, while preserving our environment.

Our staff is on call 24/7 and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office handles after-hours emergency dispatch calls. During a snow event, Road & Bridge deploys trucks and equipment around the clock.

Road & Bridge has 190.6 authorized full-time employees. Over ninety-three percent of our employees work in the field.
