The Pretrial lobby is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. by appointment onlyThe lobby is closed on Fridays. Most business can be conducted remotely. Virtual appointments are available Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please call 303-271-6521 or use our online form to schedule an appointment.


If you have been ordered to pretrial supervision, call 303-271-6528 for instructions to complete your intake. A case manager will communicate with you to explain the requirements and answer any questions you may have.




About Pretrial

Pretrial Services is a neutral entity that collaborates with a variety of agencies to serve the Criminal Justice System in Jefferson and Gilpin Counties. Jefferson County Pretrial Services is comprised of two units: Pretrial Officer Unit and Pretrial Case Management Unit. 

The Pretrial Officer Unit is located in the Jefferson County Detention Facility. This Unit screens and interviews persons arrested and booked into the jail 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year-round. The main function of this Unit is to prepare a detailed Pretrial Report about each defendant arrested on new charges for the Court. The Pretrial Report includes a validated risk assessment and the defendant’s criminal history, among other factors. The Pretrial Report also includes information to aid Judges in making informed decisions when setting bond and bond conditions.   

The Pretrial Case Management Unit is located inside of the Jefferson County Courthouse. This Unit is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (closed on holidays). The main function of this Unit is to supervise defendants’ compliance with bond conditions as set by the Court. Pretrial Case Managers meet regularly with defendants to review compliance and offer information for additional resources if appropriate. This Unit reports to the Court, Assistant District Attorney, and Defense Counsel the defendants’ status of compliance with bond conditions. 

If you are ordered to Pretrial Supervision while on bond, you must contact the Pretrial Services office within 24 business hours of your release from jail to schedule an intake. Please call 303-271-6528 or use our online form to schedule your intake. In most cases, your intake can be completed over the phone the same day.
