Pretrial Services is a neutral entity that collaborates with a variety of agencies to serve the Criminal Justice System in Jefferson and Gilpin Counties. Jefferson County Pretrial Services is comprised of two units: Pretrial Officer Unit and Pretrial Case Management Unit.

The Pretrial Report includes a validated risk assessment and the defendant’s criminal history, among other factors. The Pretrial Report also includes information to aid Judges in making informed decisions when setting bond and bond conditions.
The Pretrial Case Management Unit is located inside of the Jefferson County Courthouse. This Unit is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (closed on holidays). The main function of this Unit is to supervise defendants’ compliance with bond conditions as set by the Court. Pretrial Case Managers meet regularly with defendants to review compliance and offer information for additional resources if appropriate. This Unit reports to the Court, Assistant District Attorney, and Defense Counsel the defendants’ status of compliance with bond conditions.
