- Property Tax Payment Assistance Programs
Under this program, the state will pay the qualified senior or military personnel property taxes and hold a lien on the property until said party no longer qualifies for the program or decides to sell their house.
The deferral program will also allow for those that are not senior or military personnel to defer a portion of their real property taxes if they exceed the property tax growth cap of 4%, averaged from the preceding two years.
Applications for this program must be filed between January 1 and April 1 of the application year and taxpayers must reapply each year to continue to claim deferral. Please visit the Colorado Deferral Website to apply or call the Colorado Deferral Customer Care Center 833-634-2513.
