They were replaced with more energy efficient equipment. Facilities Management received a rebate from Xcel Energy for the installation of more efficient equipment.
Administration & Courts Building Facility Conditions Assessment
A comprehensive assessment is underway to identify remaining life and overall condition of the building and its systems. This information will be utilized to plan and budget for future repairs and replacements.
Administration & Courts Building Parking Structure Repairs
An assessment identified structural repairs that are necessary to maintain the Administration and Courts Building parking structure.
Arvada Head Start Remodel

Asphalt / Concrete Replacement & Repair Projects
Actively working on a five year program to make major maintenance and repairs to County parking lots resulting from the 2014 Countywide Asphalt and Concrete Parking Lot Assessment.
2017 Projects include work at the Sheriff Complex, the Campus Overflow Lot, Arvada Head Start, and the Mountain Service Center.
Countywide Facility Master Plan
A consultant has been contracted to develop the County's long range (immediate, 5, 10, and 20 year) space needs. All divisions are included except the Sheriff's Detention Facility, Library and the Fairgrounds. The Courts are also included in the study.
District Attorney Building Fire Alarm Upgrade
The fire alarm system at the District Attorney Building was becoming obsolete. It will be replaced with a new system which includes mass notification.
Glass Replacement
Some of the glass seals and/or window film have failed in windows in the Administration and Courts Building as well as the Human Services Building. As many replacements will be done as the budgets allow.
Parfet Building Exterior Improvements
Improvements have been made to drainage at the Parfet Building and concrete / asphalt repairs are complete. Irrigation and landscaping will be installed.
Parfet East Building Roof Mechanical Curbs & Ductwork Replacement
The roof on the east building has nearly met its useful life. However, the mechanical roof curbs are not high enough to meet the new energy code insulation requirements. The mechanical unit curbs will be raised, and the ductwork will be replaced in anticipation of re-roofing the east building in 2018.
Resource Conservation Initiatives
The county has implemented several measures to recycle resources and to reduce water use:
- Advanced Irrigation Controls
- Cardboard Balers for Recycling
- Enhanced Campus Recycling Program
- Ozone Car Wash
- Ozone / Cold Water Laundry System
- Waste Oil Heating System
