Subpoenas, orders that demand a person appear in court, are mailed to witnesses and proof of delivery (the signed waiver of service) is returned to the District Attorney’s Office. The Victim and Witness Unit is responsible for managing all returned subpoenas.
When received, the signed waiver is logged as “returned” on the case’s subpoena list and entered in the computer system. At any time, an attorney can check to see who has returned subpoenas and who has not. If you have questions, you can call 303-271-6840.
