County-Wide System

Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) was created in 1952 by consolidating small, independent libraries run by city or community groups into a countywide, tax-supported system.

JCPL has since grown to become the third-largest library system in Colorado, serving more than 534,000 county residents. In 2010 and 2011, JCPL received national recognition for excellence and innovation from Library Journal.

JCPL shares a diverse collection of more than 1.3 million items among its 10 libraries and Bookmobile. The Library plays a crucial role in the community by providing diverse services, resources and expertise.
