As part of the Advancing Breastfeeding in Colorado project and Maternal Child Health grant, we provide training, funds and support for employers, child cares and health care providers to become lactation friendly designated.     • Learn how to prepare for the transition back to work or school. This resource is also available in Spanish
  • Tips for Starting your Breastfed Baby in Child Care

    • Learn how to transition your baby to another child care provider or daycare. This resource is also available in Spanish.
  • Free Prenatal Breastfeeding Classes 

    • We offer free monthly classes in English and Spanish online through Zoom. Currently classes are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Classes are about 90-minutes in length and resources will be provided electronically.   • Baby Café - Lactation Support 

    • Baby Café is a welcoming and cozy place where new and expecting parents can gather weekly to support one another on their breastfeeding journey while receiving guidance and tips from a breastfeeding specialist. Our free Baby Café offers parents and their newborns a spot to relax with refreshments; share experiences, tips and techniques; and socialize with other parents in a child-friendly space. Free help from a board-certified Lactation Consultant is always available, along with weight checks for babies.

Donate Your Extra Breast Milk

Our Lakewood WIC Clinic is the first WIC site in Colorado to become a Donation and Outreach Center for the Arvada-based Mothers’ Milk Bank. If you are breastfeeding and have an abundance of human milk, please consider becoming a donor. Call the Mothers’ Milk Bank at 303-369-1888 or visit their website to find out how! We support human milk donors by drawing blood, storing milk and preparing shipments to Mothers’ Milk Bank.
