Meet the Commissioners

About

The county commissioners act as the governing body of the county. They are elected at large to four year terms and enact policies such as the establishment of the property tax rate and the adoption of the budget. They adopt ordinances or local laws that affect citizens living in unincorporated Jefferson County.

Meetings

The commissioners meet most Tuesdays throughout the year. Public Hearings are held in Hearing Room One at the Jefferson County Courts and Administration Building at 100 Jefferson County Parkway in Golden.

Meetings are open to the public, with the exception of executive sessions, and public comment is taken each Tuesday. Meetings are streamed live on our website and can be viewed on our Videos page.  Past meetings as well as other county board meetings and other informational videos are located on the same page.

Community Involvement

The county commissioners individually serve on numerous boards. For complete details on the various boards and the BCC’s involvement in each, visit the Organizational page.
